A display of giant fireworks exploding in the night sky, one of the highlights of the Japanese summer.

The biggest hanabi festival in Tokyo are the Sumida River Hanabi Festival in July, followed by the Edo River Hanabi Festival and Jingu-gaien Hanabi Festival in August.

As many as 20,000 rockets are launched. Up to two million viewers watch the hanabi, and many of them wear yukata on these summer evenings.
